Looks like their breakfast show and possibly others are now being broadcast from the 96FM studios in Patrick’s Place in the city. Cost cutting?

Yes, closed a few months ago... @Antenna mentioned it somewhere around here at the time.

There was some discussion in 'Dublins Q102' thread but would have deserved a thread of its own.

The premises being still advertised to rent:

Some history of the location: Majestic Ballroom, Mallow

So they were in that premises in Mallow for 33 years? That's a long time, most stations would have moved studios and offices by now.

Radio studios next and connected to a tyre garage, there must have been good soundproofing for the studios?

Look at the CDs on the shelves, was that their CD library or Production CDs?

I wonder what will happen these? were they moved to the city studios?

Sadly, I doubt there are many radio stations that still have CDs and physical media.

The studio in Bandon seemed fully branded up, but I assume that's not in use either - looked quite dead.

From a pure cost point of view it makes sense to close the Mallow studio. And if it doesn’t affect the very good radio product that it is it (which it hasn’t) it doesn’t really matter. It’s a really good local station, while still being very formatted.

It must be strange for Ken Tobin on breakfast , Nick Richards on afternoons and Martina O Donoghue on drivetime to be back in the station building they used to broadcast from when they were on 96FM. Nick was on Breakfast, Ken in the afternoon and Martina Saturday and Sunday mornings.

C103 still has one programme a week that broadcasts to West Cork alone, Sundays 10am to 2 pm, so does that mean the Bandon studio must and will remain?

The Bandon studio was used during the summer months by Graham Norton for his Virgin radio weekend shows.

I wonder if c103 have taken the ground floor in broadcasting house. AFAIK this space was vacant since the Cork Independent moved out a decade ago
