So as per heading cannot turn Router on

Was working fine then suddenly wifi went down thought it was the provider but when I checked router no led lights on. Tried reset and hard reset. no joy. It's warranty ran out today so mailed Asus support as stopped working day before warranty ends. Do you think they will replace it?

Didn't try another power cable as don't have any around the house. Is it worth buying one and what wattage should I try. Also wheres best to buy

Not going to do anything till Asus come back but anyone have a similar issue and what did they do..

    Official specs

Voltmeter test on power brick connector should tell you if its power supply or router itself. Getting replacement brick might be challenge to match connector type - two different sites claim different sizes(4x1.35 vs 5.5x2.5)

    Something to read extra

Don't have a voltmeter to check not sure if any other way to check. Voltage is above not sure if picture can show what power adapter to get if this is the issue. Tried with another plug and connected it to the adapter above and not a kick from the router

Waiting for Asus to come back. Warrenty up on the 4th but issue happened on the 3rd so reported it then. Hopefully they won't be pedantic about that

45W ! - my 50 ' TV consume about the same :D . Not sure why router would need this much power, only guess it is for USB3

Providing you can find connector barrel match - small laptop charger.
Anything that provide 20volt DC and 2.31 A (or more )should work - power adapter must be able to supply , device will take what it needs.

Talk to neighbors/relatives - someone would have multimeter

Most car bulbs are rated 12V - should be fine if you want to test whether there is power output or not.

This happened with my vodafone gigabox, and it was definitely the power supply.

I had reported it to vodafone before thinking of trying another power supply (which I did have, and did work when I tried it).

I did tell Vodafone, but they still replaced the whole thing. Gigabox was only a few months old at the time.

They didn't know why the original power supply failed.

Should from power perspective, top one even indicate required/matching polarity, providing known working (?!) and connector made contact.

Compare connector barrels from the end.
Dell HA65NS5-00 has 4.5x3 (outside(-) x inside(+)) where asus might be 4x1.35 - would not make positive contact even if it fits the hole on the router

12 month warranty or the minimum 2 year warranty required by the EU?

The Dell power cable is for Dell docking station and connector barrel not same..

Still waiting for Asus to come back and trying to find anyone with a multimeter not sure if to try any electric shop nearby

    Update

Asus said they are not direct seller so get in touch with amazon whom said

Thank you for waiting. It is not allowing us to take action on this order anymore because it was purchased in 2022. I do apologize for this.

I registered it on Asus website so they should be responsible for this as was still under warranty when it broke
