What's the position on throwaway accounts?

    It is my understanding that since the move to Vanilla, having multiple accounts was permitted to allow for anonymous posting in the likes of PI and Work Problems.

    One of my accounts was banned for being a throwaway and I asked for my main account to be closed at that time as well.

    Now my new account, nearby_cheetah, was site-banned because I used a throwaway in the past, probably due to the same IP address. I can't seem to find the prison forum and can't seem to find a way to try resolve. My previous thread here was closed without any direction.

    You are allowed 1 alternate account for the purpose of posting sensitive topics. You are not allowed register multiple accounts.

    I have received your PM and will need to look into the circumstances behind your siteban. If I decide to remove the ban you will only be allowed to hold 1 account. You will need to ask permission from the admins or forum moderators to register a second account if you want to post on a more personal topic.

    OK thanks. Yes, I registered multiple accounts due to some login issues as well as wanting to post anonymously. That was wrong on my part. I requested my old regular account and the throwaways to be closed in an effort to clean up.

    I'd be grateful if you would overturn my ban of nearby_cheetah. I only intend to use only that as my main account. I will request permission should I want to use a throwaway again in future.

    Apologies for making such a mess of my accounts.
