Good day for the low averages so far. However, there were far more low averages on the EU boards, than the UK ones.

Here are the UK Entrants with a sub 50 average

Here are the EU Entrants with a sub 50 average

And Amazingly, you can see Sven Kammann up there played two matches! He won his first match with a 40.40 average, beating Marco Bout 5-0

There's hope for us all….. Look at how many darts per leg

Conor Heneghan 4 points (out L16) 5 points total

Probably didn't get many darts at a double which would have helped his average 😜

No one really catching the eye in the EU one

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,318 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

Also beat Andy Hamilton 5-1 with a 100 average.

Fallon Sherrock gets 4 points today which will be enough even if she loses her L16 game

Henaghan,Finn Forde, Flynn, O'Shea into the last 16

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,318 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

Yep, see above post updated through the day. A really good day for Irish throwers. These 4 plus Dean Gallagher getting to 4 points all into phase 2 along with McGuirk from yesterday

John O Shea beats Fallon Sherrock to confirm his place in phase 2

Michael Flynn beats Kai Fan Leung to confirm his place in phase 2

Qualifiers for stage 2 from day 2 UK school

Jamie Atkins, Ted Evetts, Jim Moston, Michael Flynn, Nathan Girvan, Kelvin O'Keefe, John O'Shea.

In reality anyone on this list on 4 points or more is also through, the cut off last year was 3 points with a leg difference of +4 https://www.dartsrankings.com/qschool-uk-first

Dean Finn Forde, Conor Heneghan can definitely take the day off tomorrow, and Dean Gallagher as well, if nothing else it will protect Deans leg difference in the very unlikely event 4 points is the cut off.

Those advancing from todays play at EU school

Kai Gotthardt, David Cameron, Viktor Tingstrom, Stefan Schroder, Jannis Barkhausen, Ricardo Ulrich, Patrick Klingelhoefer, Marcel Walpen

There's another name from the recent past - if I remember right Kai Fan Leung was one of the star performers at q school maybe 2 or 3 years ago, obviously never made an impression on the tour

Dragutin Horvath and Ron Meulenkamp early casualties in the EU one

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,318 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

No points at all for Meulenkamp

Also, I see Dean Gallagher on the entry list for today despite being on 4 points

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,318 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

FDI darts index ran 200 simulations and they reckon the UK cut off will be 3 points and a leg difference of +3. In all simulations though 4 points was enough

Update on Irish players from day 3 getting points. With updated overall running totals included. 4 points will ensure phase 2 entry and 3 points with a decent leg difference might be enough

James Brogan 1 point (out L128) 2 points total

Sean McKeon 3 points (out L32) 3 points total 0 leg difference and cut off is going to be +2

Ultan McDyer through to stage 2

Neilie Brouder 1 point (out L128) 1 point total

Patrick Quinn 1 point (out L128) 2 points total

Dylan Dowling 2 points (out L64) 3 points total +6 leg difference which might well be enough

Dean Gallagher lost to Andy Hamilton today but his 4 points will be enough to get through

Ciaran Teehan will be disappointed to get no points today and only one overall

No points for Niall Culleton today, he finishes on 2 points (+1 leg difference) which wont be enough

Regardless of what happens, it shows a serious improvement in the grass roots game of the country. A fair few of the lads would be ADC regulars in addition to their county set ups.

Sean Mckeown and Ultan McDwyer both win away from making it through

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,318 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

Dylan Dowling is safe now I think, the 3 points and +6 leg difference will be enough

Ultan McDyer and Sean McKeon will both need to win one more match to progress

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,318 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

    McDyer into stage 2

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,318 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

Sean McKeon loses a final leg decider and will go out on leg difference. He had darts in both of the last 2 legs to win it as well. Finishes on 3 points and zero leg difference and the cut off is going to be 3 points and +2 leg difference

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,908 ✭✭✭Dillonb3

2nd last leg was the killer. Missed 3 at 36 on his own throw after starting 100 180

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,318 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

Ultan McDyer wins his L16 match to qualify automatically. Eight Irish players through to stage 2, hopefully a few get cards

    Automatic qualification

    Shane McGuirk

    Michael Flynn

    John O Shea

    Ultan McDyer

    OoM qualification

    Dean Finn Forde

    Conor Heneghan

    Dean Gallagher

    Dylan Dowling

Is it straight back at it tomorrow?

Yep, straight back for 4 consecutive days, a real bonus for anyone who was able to take a break today.

The winner of each day of stage 2 in the UK and EU schools gets a card, so thats 8 cards awarded. The remaining cards will go to the highest places on the OoM with them earning points from the L32 stage. The split of OoM cards between EU and UK is on a pro rata basis based on overall numbers, the expected split is 9 UK OoM places to get a card and 12 EU I think.
