All UK channels missing from Astra 28.2e?

Hi everyone. I'm sure I must be doing something wrong but I'm having no luck getting any of the UK channels on the satellite. I have the TV set to Astra2 28.2e and the TV is saying 100% signal quality. Have done several full scans and spent hours realigning the dish. Have hundreds of other random foreign channels but none of the UK channels. Last time I set up a satellite I just had to align the dish, hit tune, and all the channels were there. Has something changed or am I doing something wrong?! Cheers

The same frequencies are reused on different satellites - your dish is aligned to the wrong satellite. If you post up some of the channels you are receiving, it should be possible to identify where you are and how to correct the dish alignment.

Your dish must be pointing at the wrong satellite. You can examine them here to see which one matches your foreign channels. 19 East Astra 1 is often the one that people are on by mistake.

Thanks guys. I had considered this, however would the TV not be able to tell the difference? I have selected Astra2 28.2e and the TV says 100%. Having said that, i did select other satellites and it still said 100% so i suppose that answers that question... It's in my parents house so will check again on Christmas Day, the first channel was a German shopping channel! Must have just got lucky the last time we set up a satellite.

The TV won't know what satellite you are pointed at - it is receiving a good signal, but most likely not from Astra 28.2, if you are pulling in foreign stations. Essentially you are setting up the dish and then telling the TV what satellite it is, for channel sorting purposes. If you are pointed at the wrong satellite, anything it finds is simply filed under the satellite name that you selected.

A German shopping channel could be on one of several satellites. As said previously, post the names of a few more that you can see and it should be possible to see what satellite you are pointed at and where you have to move to.

My sat meter giving no signal for Astra 28.2 E in last few weeks but 100% on Astra 28.5 E(slight adjustment to dish) with all free to air channels.

Has something shifted in the last few weeks?

Nothing has changed in the orbital positions of satellites. Satellites do drift naturally in space, but they are maintained in position within tolerance limits. The difference between 28.2 and 28.5 is nothing to a satellite dish. It means your dish was out of alignment all along.

Thanks lads, got it working yesterday. Although I wish I hadn't with the shite they had on all night...

So if I tune to Astra 28.5E its no difference. According to king of sat there are more free to air channels on 28.5E.

Your dish picks them both up at the same time as they are so close. It dosent matter what satellite you pick on your receiver if your doing a blind scan you could pick asiasat 7 @105e for example and blind scan that you'll still get the same channels.

I'm looking at Kingofsat now. All three Astra satellites have a nominal orbital position of 28.2, but if you examine the list, one of the satellites at the moment is at 28.22 and another is at 28.45. It means nothing to a receiving dish. All the satellites are being maintained within limits.

Yea but when I put my meter on a dish I know is 100% on 28.2E and flick to 28.5E my meter drops to 65-70% so there is a slight adjustment to get 100% on 28.5E. My 2 meters(Labgear S201) stopped picking up 28.3E in the last few weeks and I thought they were fukd and about to order a new one until i copped this.

If you check the parameters the one on 28.5 was not a uk spot beam so will be a bit weaker then the non uk spot beam
