Conveniently leave out the fact that you are showing hospitality tickets and that the general 2026 tickets arent on sale yet.

I just looked up tickets for Silverstone 2026 and they are the prices that came up yesterday.

I didn't know more/cheaper tickets will be available at a future date.

Will wait for a cheaper seat if that's the case.

Cadillac F1 Reaches Mult-Year Sponsorship Deal With Jim Beam

"Ahead of the 2026 season, the new Cadillac F1 entry to the grid has one of its first sponsorship deals.

Historic American bourbon distiller, Jim Beam, has reached a multi-year partnership with Cadillac F1. Exact financial terms were not revealed, only saying that the sponsorship agreement was multi-million dollar in nature.

As part of the agreement, Jim Beam becomes the Official Spirits Partner of Cadillac F1.

The deal will see branding, both on and off the car, for the entire F1 schedule over the duration of the agreement."

She's a better chance at becoming Uachtarán na hÉireann then FIA President.

    This too shall pass.

The FIA opened a 'VAR' room in Switzerland in 2022. They get all the feeds except the 360 cameras as they are stored to hard drives on the car. They can even look up telemitery.
It was a bad decision by the stewards. I have a feeling they just didn't look at all of the available footage and threw out the penalty. We have all seen mistakes using VAR when they don't show something or miss the bigger picture and I think this was one of those.

I am a Max fan, have been since he started, but the amount of online bollox today about him winning his 5th WDC title is ridiculous.

It will go to 1 of the McClarens.

It is brilliant to see Max back to winning though, what did they do to the Red Bull to change things around..?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,180 ✭✭✭Jacovs

The RedBull situation reminds of football clubs. When the players arent happy with the manager they play shite until the manager is gone, then magically play much better under new management again.

    Last few races with Horner in charge;

Max DNF and Yuki last in 16th and 2 laps down.

Max 5th and Yuki last in 15th and 1 lap down.

    Max 4th and Yuki 13th.

    Max 9th and Yuki 17th.

    Horner leaves.

    Max 2nd and Yuki 10th.

    Max 1st and Yuki 13th.

    Max 1st and Yuki 6th.

Any of the top 5 drivers can still win it theoretically, but will be a McLaren driver I think.

Something very fishy to me about Piastri's weekend. He won last year at Baku, so not like its a bogey track for him.

It's kind of ironic that Max is about to block Lando's run in for a championship charge. Last year it was for his own title, this year it's stopping Lando close in on Oscar.

    This too shall pass.

As much as I'd love to see Max win 5 titles on the bounce (to equal Michael's stint at Ferrari), it's extremely unlikely to happen. The car improvements would need to still work well for all the remaining track types and both McLaren drivers would need to lose the plot like in Baku. Would make for some tv though. 😁

More likely is Oscar will get it over the line and Max will be back to using number 33 on the car next year.

I don't see anything fishy about it at all. He had a bad weekend was a bit off and proved he is only human after all and we make mistakes. He is lucky that Lando also did not have a great weekend and it did not cost him too much. He will learn from this. To crash once in a corner late breaking is bad but twice in the same corner was terrible.

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.

Theres a bad weekend, then theres the current champion leader crashing in qualifying, jumping the race start to hit the anti-stall, and crashing again first lap of the race from last position. On a track that he won at last year.

But, I guess it can happen and I sure hope thats all it was. Would love to see him win it over Norris.

Or having qualified 9th behind his teammate in 7th, is trying to make up grid spots in a hurry and slides off on cold tyres.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,432 ✭✭✭Busman Paddy Lasty

It's the media's job to hype up Max 5 in a row and get clicks. So always take with pinch of salt.

The only problem is that McLaren are doing their level best to lose the drivers championship. Sarcasm but taking points off their leading driver and apparently losing the ability to change tyres is fuelling the hype machine.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,267 ✭✭✭✭prawnsambo

I think most serious commentators are saying it's a bridge too far for Max. But another weekend like this and the pressure mounts on McLaren. Whether it was that pressure that affected Piastri in Baku is hard to know, but it can't be discounted. There are seven races and three sprints left in the season. Over 200 points available, so a bit of a tall order for Max to pick up 69 of them plus whatever Piastri or Norris pick up too.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,169 ✭✭✭✭pjohnson

Tbf if McLaren keep ballsing things up, it does slightly open a door for Max.

As it is I wouldn't be surprised if Max caught up to get 2nd in the Championship.

And if McLaren do keep fudging it I could possibly see a 2007 Raikkonnen-esque last race championship for Max as McLaren eliminate themselves

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,822 ✭✭✭PsychoPete

Baku was completely out of character for Piastri, it seemed like pure desperation to make up positions. I'd assume normal service will resume in Singapore. With COTA,Mexico and Interlagos coming there's maybe a slim chance of Verstappen catching Norris as they are tracks he's extremely good at. I wonder how close Max would have to get before Mclaren stop the "you have to play nice" bullish!t and actually prioritise the lead driver

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,807 ✭✭✭✭flazio

The only reason he took 33 was because Daniel Riccardo had already taken 3. Now that Danny's gone he might be able to take 3.

    This too shall pass.

He can't/won't. Firstly his brand for 33 is still there to use. And secondly, the number 3 was used in 2024 which means it's blocked from being used in 2025 and 2026 by any other driver, so the earliest somebody could take 3 is 2027.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,432 ✭✭✭Busman Paddy Lasty

As much a Piastri fan I am he has shown signs of pressure a few times this year. Baku obviously. Being penalised for heavy braking under SC and going mad nearly wiping out Norris in Austria I think it was.

On numbers, I never pay much attention. Could Checo take 33 next year for the lolz?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 141 ✭✭Paddy_Mag

Checo won't be able to take 33 as Max has that locked in

Nice fit to be fair, TAG Heuer and F1 go hand in hand. A 10-year deal with LVMH gives them serious stability too, feels like a return to the classic partnerships.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,267 ✭✭✭✭prawnsambo

Christian Horner has finalised an exit deal with Red Bull. Reputed to be worth $100 million over the remaining five years of his contract and allowing him to come back to F1 some time next year.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,601 ✭✭✭✭dulpit

Nice chunk of change. Enough to finance a takeover of Alpine I wonder?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,267 ✭✭✭✭prawnsambo

Would Alpine be worth as little as $100 million?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,583 ✭✭✭NinjaTruncs

Aren't F1 teams worth billions now? I'm pretty sure I heard that value last time an Alpine takeover was being discussed.

On another topic, given Max has won the last two races, if he wins the next race, and assuming Oscar and Lando finish close to each other, does anyone think McLaren will focus on Oscar? They would look very stupid if Max did pull it out of the bag and Oscar loses as a result of trying to be fair to Lando.

Max has to outscore Piastri by 10 points every weekend. Granted there's some sprint bonus points available but it's still a huge ask.

If they prioritise Oscar they'll be safe if they keep trying to keep Lando in contention its leaving a slight chink for Max.
