It annoys me that it's not a 31/12/20xx year end, but whatever. A lot of dog walking in there too, not enough swimming.

Longest day: Kildare to Achill, ~300km.

I might close the 4% by year end. did not do as much commuting late in the year for various reasons.

Does it matter that my stats are in imperial 🤔😂

Tried changing it in settings, but it made no difference. Nothing impressive in my stats, but sure as we're posting them...

    2,094 miles = 3,370 km

    54,636ft = 16,653m

The feed are offering to custom your stats on a water bottle for premium strava users, it’s free of charge for the bottle but you have to pay postage.

all stats DOWN from last year WA? You need to try harder in 2025! :)

Just curious is Strava measuring stats for this year against all of 2023 or just up to 14th Dec 2023?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,419 ✭✭✭07Lapierre

good point! I suspect it’s comparing your total stats for 2023. What total km did u do last year?

Strava algorithm had the decency to not send me my yearly summary 🫤

I'm too cheap to pay for Strava.

Stats all down on previous years. Very few 100k+ spins this year and I got covid and pneumonia in the of September so I've been off the bike 3 months pretty much. Only starting back now with baby steps.

145km ascent though which is one of my highest annual totals.

Can't imagine doubling my mileage to over 20k though!! Them's monstrous numbers!😱

I don't do Strava either but looking at Garmin has depressed me a bit when I see the drop off in the last few months.

Would you be able to not go out and do 12km today? I know that's what would be grating on me 😀

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 955 ✭✭✭gn3dr

Ha ha - I hadn't even noticed how close I was to 5K km. 😂 Pissing rain down here so I think I might do a session on the smart trainer to hit that milestone

The Cavan blood in me has left me too tight to pay for the VeloViewer graphic.

Anyhow, I recently passed the 10,000 km mark - down from a planned 15k kms mainly due to being the one left to walk our young dog (which meant working from home which meant I'd be tied to the computer all day).

Still, despite missing my distance target, I hit my elevation target of 85,000 metres.

According to statshunters.com, I had 45 spins of 100km or more (totalling 5,315 km & 48,219 m), the longest of which was the Reservior Dog sportive (including there & back) which came to 207km & 2,700m.

Hopefully 2025 will allow me more time on the saddle again and I'll hit 15,000km and 100,000m

Two separate doses of Covid and then in October I injured my leg, the cut got infected and I finished up with essentially an ulcer on the skin over my shin bone which is one of the slowest healing spots in the body. Almost all healed up now so hopefully I'll get a better run at things in 2025. I'll be starting from a low base but it'll be great to be able to make a plan and go for it.

Down about 20% on the last 5 years. Mainly down to not doing more then a dozen 100+ km rides. Still happy enough as I've over 3000km walks/hikes too.

    12,800km and 95,000m ascent

14,400km for the year with 93,000m of climbing

3000km less than last year but climbing up 16,000m

Happy with the year, my first full year riding a bike. Ticked off quite a few nice milestones; 4 w/kg FTP, climbed Teide, 200km+ ride, 3400m day. Let's see how 2025 goes!

Not a great year. Sick a lot, sick 3 weeks into Ras and twice already in the last month. Had hoped to clear 12000km but lost another few weeks there.

All main metrics down this year, power down, heart rate seems to be dropping. Age possibly starting to take effect! First year in many that I don't have any positive races or targets met so 2025 can only be better!

    6003km, 40500m 103 spins.

Ok considering I survived a heart attack in Nov '23 and recovery had to be easy.

Nothing to write home about this year, work got in the way big time. Just shy of 5k for the year. Need to sign up for something challenging to motivate myself for the year ahead.

Interesting looking at the pattern of other people's active days. My own are predominantly Tuesdays & Thursdays on club spins. If I make the effort regularly and avoid any lengthy injury or illness, it almost guarantees I'm going to end up around the 11k mark. Hopefully 2025 will be much the same with a few foreign trips as usual in the mix as well.
