Hi there my son has an Xbox series s and when he turns it on every day it won't connect to the internet,so I have to turn the internet off and wait for it to start up again and it works fine,my question is how can I get the Xbox to work first time without having to turn the power off and back on?this only affects the Xbox all the other things connect first time.thank you

Dunno if this helps but I found this worked... Basically plug out your Xbox completely then restart the Xbox. Even when you have the Xbox plugged in but turned off its still trying to connect and on old settings, I'm not using the correct terminology here.

So a complete disconnection from power will do a proper reset.

Just in case anyone else is stuck as this had my head wrecked when Junior's Series X suddenly wouldn't connect over wireless or wired recently.

After trying numerous things I came across a suggestion on a Reddit thread (https://www.reddit.com/r/XboxSeriesX/comments/jrtf3e/comment/jp1h8en/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button) to clear the alternate MAC address, it seemed odd but it did work!

Go to Settings/network settings/advanced settings/alternate MAC address and clear the MAC address.
