Ended up getting a resale ticket for Loreen but didn't go in the end, nor did I end up going to John Cale. In both cases, I just wasn't in the right form to be able to drag myself to a gig. It's sadly impossible to foresee with certainty when one has the energy or wellbeing to get oneself to events. I may have a chance to see Loreen some other time; sadly, might not be possible with John Cale, but fingers crossed that he has more years left in him.

    I now have tickets for:

Kim Deal in Vicar Street (June)

    George Clanton in Whelan's (September)

    Tune-Yards in Whelan's (November)

Hopefully I'll be able to make all of them.

Saw The K's in Whelans tonight.. When I first heard the song Icarus off their debut album I thought there was something a little more ambitious than the usual Arctic Monkeys copycat sound that's prevalent these days from younger bands. The singer has an amazing voice, but would've preferred if he showcased it a little less and let the tunes do the talking a little more. And they do have some tunes! Definitely ones to watch.. Crowd was electric.. Feel like they could be special

Thought they were crap in the Grand Social a few years ago. Been listening to them since 2021, just a run of the mill indie act for me.

I'm in to see them in the Olympia Thursday, really looking forward to it. Gave I should Coco a couple of spins yesterday. You forget what a fun album it is. Will be strange to see a bunch of oul lads belting out those anthems for teens to a bunch of oul lads but we'll all have a ball I'm sure.

    my list I suppose:

Beyond the Pale 2025: Picks Jeff Mills, Jon Hopkins, Ezra Collective, Sugarhill Gang, TV On The Radio, Broken Social Scene, Death in Vegas, among others.

Forest Fest 2025: Franz Ferdinand, The Dandy Warhols, Manic Street Preachers, Orbital, Kula Shaker, Therapy, Peter Hook and the Light, Nick Lowe, The Magic Numbers, among others.

All Together Now 2025: Fontaines DC, Bicep Chroma, London Grammar, Michael Kinwanuka, Wet Leg, Leftfield, John Grant, Seun Kuti, among others.

Body & Soul Wake 2025: This is the first event I've bought a ticket for since Field Day 2023, I don't think the crew I work with is working it and its the last Body & Soul so I coughed up for ticket. I've no idea who might play but I'm gonna be there.

Electric Picnic 2025: Kings of Leon, Sam Fender, Chappell Roan, maybe Barry Can't Swim, Confidence Man (Although I'm tired of them at this stage), Kingfishr, Maribou State, Self Esteem, Suki Waterhouse, Viagra Boys, Biig Pig, For Those I Love, among others.

Now that's a load of stuff, haven't done many standalones recently up to Dublin or down to Cork, but all these fests should keep me going.

If you want to get into it, you got to get out of it. (Hawkwind 1982)

Going to see The Beths in September at The Button Factory, never been there, what's it like as a venue? Handy enough to get to? (Probably obvious from the question but I don't know Dublin at all!)

Oh well, give me an easy life and a peaceful death.

It's a lovely little venue. Dead central, round the corner from Temple bar square, Fleet Street carpark 2 mins away if you have the motor. Nice little bar attached, loads of places to eat and drink around it, great sound....and the Beth's on top of all that! You'll enjoy it.

Hi folks. I’m selling 2 Gold Circle Justin Timberlake tickets for the Belfast show, this Thursday 26th. €50 each. They’re in the ‘Front Standing’ section, aka Gold Circle . Can do Ticketmaster transfer and Revolut, ideally!

Have sold tiks to shows and Ireland matches on here in the past, with no issues 😊

    thanks!

Just procured myself a Jah Wobble ticket for his Galway gig at Roisin Dubh on 3rd December, he is doing a Dub version of PIL's Metal Box, should be an interesting gig.

If you want to get into it, you got to get out of it. (Hawkwind 1982)
