As expected there was a silent majority who is quite happy with the status quo.

Property prices on the rise, decent wages, great job opportunities and energy prices on the way down, and completely unaffected and insulted from rental crisis and cost of living crisis.

Neither FF nor FG existed 100 years ago.

If people in the west want better public transport they need to stop building one-off houses, which are totally car dependent.

    I'm partial to your abracadabra,

I'm raptured by the joy of it all.

While those moaning and complaining on social media stayed at home didn’t bother to vote

Now they back on social media like boards peddling conspiracy theories

The only anyway accurate 1st preference votes on the boards poll was FG, the rest were hugely out.

Look at a map of the Motorways in Ireland… it will show the west/northwest has been completely ignored. Nothing to do with one-off houses.

It's everything to do with one-off houses. If you want infrastructure and services you need population centres not housing dispersed all over the place

That's because there are no cities in the northwest of Ireland, and one reason for this is one-off housing. Galway City has a motorway because Galway is large enough to justify the cost of building one. If Sligo town and Castlebar had larger populations, more people would commute between those settlements. There is also a motorway connecting the bustling megalopolis of Tuam with the M6, which discredits your claim about the west being completely ignored.

You build infrastructure to accommodate demand, not the other way around.

''If you build it they will come''!! so continue to over populate the capital and have people commute into there….

We wonder why the same old politicians get elected time after time, its because of the lack of forward thinking.

If the likes of the western rail line re-opened and motorways etc were built, it would ease(not solve) the housing / rental crisis for one as many would move towards the west.
