His contract expires June 30th next year, he previously said his current contract will be his last with RTE. Kevin Branagain is planning to offer him 300k to host a telephone phone-in show on Classic Hits radio weekdays 12 till 2. if he stays with RTE, he'll have to agree to a pay cut of 101k.

heard a little of liveline a few weeks back for the first time in years.

God, he is one useless presenter. Completely disingenuous and just basically stirring up shît…. “Go on ye, ye, go on….” Constantly interrupting people, talking over them and then putting his own spin on something and you know 100% the man doesn’t even believe what he’s saying himself half the time.

can’t stand the guy. His head well and truly wedged in the RTE trough for decades, with the exact same disingenuous schtick….he’s not intelligent, insightful, or entertaining…

the end of his last contract with RTE? he has said this a few times so I guess that bit is true. I'd say he will stay on doing the meaningless of life and other things he is interested in on the TV. Cant see him doing a cut price version of Liveline for an indo.

For a long time, Classic hits/4fm was living hand to mouth, so it has a reputation as a business that might not have enough funds in the bank on Friday to pay wages.

Yes and if you look at even what Liveline ad revenue brings in I would say 80% of the ads are for government agencies, they are not going to move over to an independent station.

Tired of listening to how much money this waffler makes for sfa, and if he could packaged together with D’arcy and Claire Byrne so much the better.

Not long ago David Davin Power passed away and I just see the national broadcaster as an empty shell compared to what it once was. There are still some shining lights there like Audrey Carville but the schedule is now more a shrine to mediocrity rather than talent and intelligent interviewing.
