My wife has this brilliant idea that we need to make gifts for the family instead of just buying crap. Now, she would like for me to make her one of these huge metal flowers she can put in the garden somewhere.

Does anybody have any idea where I can obtain those thin, lightweight metal sheets usually used for construction of said flower ornaments?

Fingal area preferred, but I am willing to travel far if needed!

You could try Blue Steel, they are right beside TJ O'Mahoney's at the Kilshane Cross.

scrap yard and an angle grinder and you would cut some off a bonnet or a door or something like that.

Rusting is good as well. Some of it I may paint, but if the rust looks good, I will keep it like that.

No, I plan to wing it :) I will make a paper version first. The flower will not be as intricate as a rose - it will be more like a sunflower, just simpler. Some large petals only.

B&Q sell small metal sheets usually about 0.5m x 0.5m. I've seen solid steel, aluminium, galvanised steel, anodised metal and lots of perforated sheets.
