Getting stuff off my PC before lending it?

My girlfriend needs my PC for a few days and I don't want her knowing about some of my online accounts. I know how to delete history, but these days there seems to be all sorts of things PCs remember without you wanted them to.

When I singed out of google/youtube, it displayed a message saying "your passwords, hist, [etc] are no longer being synced to you account but will remain on this device". So I was wondering what it meant by "will remain on this device"?

As in logging out of chrome isn't enough? Any help would be appreciated.

Just set up a separate windows user account for her, and she won't have access to any of your stuff

It can't be that difficult to do it the way I intended?

Safest bet is to not lend it,make up some excuse about spilled water or dropping it.

Don't lend it. Where is her own PC?

This, only takes five mins and then she can log in with all her accounts on her profile

Create a windows profile for her, that way she can't access your profile and anything private

This is the obvious and simple solution. If you don't want to do that, maybe try uninstalling chrome (or whatever your main browser is with all the history) and installing brave or Firefox or opera or some other browser for her to use while she has borrowed the computer

But do you know the actual answer to the question in the thread?

I think the answer is in the question, the passwords will remain on the device on your profile

Chat gpt will tell you how to remove the data

To remove local data from a device after signing out of Google or YouTube, you can clear the data in your browser or app settings. Here’s how to do it:

    For Google Chrome on Desktop

Open Chrome: Go to your browser.

    Clear Browsing Data:

Click on the three dots in the top-right corner.

Go to Settings > Privacy and security > Clear browsing data.

In the dialog that appears, you can choose which data to delete:

Browsing history: Removes your local browsing history.

Cookies and other site data: Logs you out of most websites and removes site data.

Cached images and files: Clears cached files but won’t affect account sync.

Passwords and other sign-in data: Deletes saved passwords stored locally.

Select All time to remove everything, or choose a specific time range.

Click “Clear Data” to remove the selected items.

For Google Chrome on Mobile (Android/iOS)

    Open Chrome App.

    Go to Settings:

Tap on the three dots in the top-right corner (or bottom-right for iOS) and select Settings.

    Clear Browsing Data:

Go to Privacy and Security > Clear browsing data.

Choose which data you want to delete, similar to desktop settings.

    Select “Clear Data” to confirm.

    For YouTube App (Android/iOS)

    Open the YouTube App.

    Go to Settings:

Tap on your profile picture > Settings > History & Privacy.

    Clear Data:

Clear Watch History and Clear Search History to remove local YouTube data.

Note: This won't clear your saved account data, but it will remove history and searches stored locally.

Clear Data for the Whole Device (Android)

If you’re on an Android device and want to remove local data from both Google and other apps:

    Open Settings on your device.

    Go to Apps:

    Select Google Chrome or YouTube.

    Clear Data/Storage:

Choose Clear Storage (or Clear Data on some devices) to remove all local app data.

This will delete all data stored by the app locally, including any unsynced data, login details, and custom settings.

    Important Note

Clearing local data will remove all locally saved information, so make sure you have backup copies (like passwords in a password manager) if needed.

Your passwords history etc are no longer being su ced but will remain on the device. You need to delet cookies , clear cache, delete history and delete your temp folder .

Or you could create a windows login for her 🤔

I think if you give her a laptop with everything wiped looks more sus than giving her a laptop and say "hey I set up your own space so you can sync your own data and use it whenever you want"
