Installing Devi Mat Controllers

I had Devi Mat underfloor heating installed in a small bathroom when I built my house about 18 years ago. The install and wiring was done by an electrician. However he never came back to finish the job at the time and I just put a blank on the wall where the wiring exited and never went back to it. I am looking at trying to finally commission it now.

Does anyone know if there's a cheap compatible controller / thermostat that I can install myself as I don't want to buy an expensive unit in case it doesn't work after all these years, what with it never having been turned on.

The wiring back to the where the controller would go consists of -

    • A thick cable that seems to have an earth and a neutral wire within. I haven't stripped it back to see if there's a live feed in there as well but I assume there is
    • A small very thin black cable with a single copper core
    • A slightly thicker black cable with two copper core ends showing

Not sure what the smaller black cables are, I'm assuming thermostat and timer or something like that?

    Any advice appreciated.
