You would need to say the make and model of your receiver and the image and version you are using.

I'm looking at getting the upcoming GigaBlue UHD Quad 4K Pro and whatever images are supported, going by their site openatv along with their own teamblue images work. Just not clear searching online if you have two wideband lnb's connected to it if switch would work fine for 28e and 19e buying switch online without programmer.

You have me a tad confused, why are you getting such a sophisticated switch? This is for a large number of receivers and the use of wideband lnb's is box dependent like sky q and UK freesat, it allows recording of more than 2 channels. You should get universal lnb's . That quad pro box has fbc tuners, known as FULL BAND CAPTURE and with ORDINARY UNICABLE unicable can record multiple channels. World of sat sell gigablue but all out of stock at the moment. But as the gigablue can take a vix image so i would post your query on world of sat, say you will use latest image. I know very little about unicable but interested.

That new quad box looks interesting.

Ive got a simple Unicable II LNB , 2X VU+ Duo 4K SE ( dual FBC and DVB T on both ) boxes and multiple single tuner enigma 2 boxes in addition to many units running off the VU+ boxes using plex or kodi.

    https://www.satworld.ie/inverto-unicable-ii-programmable-lnb-with-32ub-en.html

Im only using 20 of the 32 user bands available.

Given how many screens or boxes I can run of such a simple Unicable II LNB , and the fact that Unicable can be split with very cheap splitter units , I cant imagine what kind of massively complicated job that Switch would be needed for.

Some kind of commercial installation maybe ?

Thanks for the responses. To be honest I'm only looking into unicable now so didn't even know there were lnb's like above. Just want to have a setup that allows unicable setup in each room that I have satellite connection and have option of using more than one satellite. For the lnb's do they work out of the box without programming? Cheers.

"For the lnb's do they work out of the box without programming?"🤣🤣 NO if only it was that simple but if you are keen then all will be solved over time. You have to buy the correct UNICABLE LNB for your needs and then you have to configure the whole lot. The box you are gettiing will have 2 inputs so put 28 on Tuner A and 19e on Tuner B but

you will need a diseq switch to select the correct satellite. So have 2 unicable LNB's will give you facility for more boxes but what exactly do you need.

Andy has a good unicable but do you need it. Say what you want to achieve and maybe an easier solution.

Here are a few pics of how the tuner will look with that unicable. Its pic 2 that is as far as I have got as tuning algorithm has lost me for now.

I knew I had seen a guide and its here

    https://www.world-of-satellite.com/showthread.php?59981-Guide-to-using-Unicable

and if I was getting a unicable I would use Vix image.

Thanks, by programming I didn't mean the receiver settings just meant the inverto/satpal programmer for programming switch/lnb that seems to be required in some setups.

The LNB I bought comes programmed for the most common option , to work directly with either legacy tuners ( in which case its no different to a Sky HD box , two tuners max ) or with FBC tuners , in which case you can run 32 boxes via one feed and some splitters.

Any tuner will work with Unicable as long as you can set advanced mode and assign a User band for that tuner , some tuners ( my walker TV for example in the kitchen ) work fine with it , but automatically chooses user band 1 , which took a while to figure out so watch out for that on simple tuners.

I have one feed off the LNB , and a 1 in 2 out splitter from Amazon. Splitters come in many configurations , I also have a 2 in 5 out splitter , they only cost a couple of euros each so threw that one in there to make the order worthwhile , still havent used it yet.

The dual FBC has two connections , but only needs one cable feed as they are internally connected on the tuner module , the setup is advanced , punch in your LNB details , set the user bands up , and you have 8 tuners, ( two physical , 6 virtual , on each box )

The key thing is that each tuner , real or virtual , must be assigned one of the unique User band numbers , there will be a table of user band frequencies either on the box or in the PDF for the LNB.

    No programmer box required.

I just have it set to Astra. I dont know how to set up multi lnb or multi sat setups. Im sure its easily done once you know how.
