How are you managing to fit strength work in?

I've been consistently at this for 2 years now about to run DCM for the first time. This year I upped the mileage a fair whack and running about 5 runs a week.

The strength training has taken a hit and between an often 10 hour workday and trying to maintain some sort of a personal life the best I'm managing right now is 2-3 sessions a week with kettlebells at home of about 30 minutes and sometimes even that feels overwhelming.

I'm in awe at some of the posts I see on reddit where folks can go to the gym and run a full PPL program and still maintain serious mileage, and also thinking how does someone manage that with a job and not be completely burnt out recovery wise.

Just wondering how the seasoned runners here are fitting it in?

Easy one for me - I just don’t do it!

Wouldn’t be too worried about the folks on Reddit. There’s a lot of hot air out there.

    Here's how

    • they don't have a 10 hour work day
    • they don't maintain some sort of personal life
    • they don't manage their job very well
    • they don't have kids
    • they don't have parent to look after
    • they are lying on the internet

You're doing great getting the sessions in that you are, don't worry about it, and don't compare yourself and your life to some random person on the internet.

6am class twice a week on working from home days. Plus an evening one with the club most weeks. Don't nail everything, but that's not the point, imo.
