Stronger Leinster side than I was expecting. But still a lot of youth in there too. Glad to see Culhane's performances on the EI tour be rewarded.

Prendergast had been rumoured to start this, but he played 3 games in 8 days over on South Africa. Always felt unrealistic for him to take part.

We're also really plumbing deep into the depths at hooker. McCarthy has 4 caps to date and Smyth will be making his debut if he gets on.

Shame not to have Hansen for this, I reckon Andrew Osborne is a major defensive liability.

    The two Hughs to debut!

Which Seán O'Brien is in the Connacht back row?

Great to see Frawley get another go, it might have been nice to see Prendegast on the bench but hopefully he’ll get a start against the Lions.

Very excited to see what Culhane can do

That's a stronger Leinster side than I was expecting. Not sure if Connacht can win this one

I think this will be a one score game, and I'm not sure to which side.

Hopefully for a great contest to be honest. My first time in the dexacom in about 5 years

Tactical reason to be afraid Piers O'Connor, though not completely unexperienced here, played only 10 out of his 111 game as FB…Same for Hawkshaw 13 and SOB 7

physical reason to be afraid : our front-rox + Prendergast had not a single rest

opposition reason to be afraid 5 starters + 1 on the bench of them are contenders for the best players in the world in their positions

mitigations : O'Connor and Hawshaw are solid defenders, their front-row is in shambles cause of injuries and rests, our engine machine 5-8-20 looks solid, Forde and Gavin will bring us a lot of power and Murphy/Ioane pairing works in open play

Hawkshaw looks like a quality player when he plays inside centre. I wonder if Leinster will try to re-sign him in a few seasons - whenever Henshaw finishes up.

i am absolutely sure they wont! struggle with game management - ulster last weekend.

Murphy and cordero as much as we want them to be great, they aint.

    Leinster by 12+.

    Leinster by 20+

Connacht are a good aide that can slice you apart in the backs of you aren't fully switched on.

Worried about this fixture from a Leinster perspective as well always look more disjointed in defence when the front liners aren't playing.

Excellent break from Osborne, made by Snyman's pass.

Thought JGP could have been a bit more sympathetic with his support line.

That's just stupid stuff from Snyman.

Not fair that someone so big can be so good with his hands.

    Snyman calling lineouts

    Since when?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,724 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

    That try was coming.

Snyman is killing Connacht with these offloads.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,807 ✭✭✭✭Exclamation Marc

    Snyman is dominating.

Of course Frawley gets injured just when he's starting to consolidate his position as Leinster's starting 10.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,373 ✭✭✭ongarite

His ability to offload like that is unreal.

    Frawley is crocked. ****

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,851 ✭✭✭clsmooth

Snyman looking like a good fit for Leinster

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,887 ✭✭✭accensi0n

Jesus, poor Frawley, wish his body was more hardy.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,373 ✭✭✭ongarite

    Looks like a quad injury

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,008 ✭✭✭CMcsporty

    Frawley injury. Ffs

Ross will be starting against NZ yet

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,008 ✭✭✭CMcsporty

Harry Byrne wishes he was as robust as Frawley

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,008 ✭✭✭CMcsporty

is there a very strong breeze at the sportsground tonight?

Or is Murphy just kicking atrocious?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,008 ✭✭✭CMcsporty

    wind

Stop hoofing it into the air!

Ryan got the first touch I think. Then it came off Culhane after.

    Is that offside then?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,207 ✭✭✭ironingbored

Why are they looking at that?! Block down and try.

I feel like Aki running at Andrew Osborne shouldn't be allowed.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 499 ✭✭niallm77

    Ioane doesn't like lineouts

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,724 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

Leinster's intensity has dropped off since th 20th minute.

    Which is becoming a trend.

With the wind Connacht can't even kick behind Leinster to beat the rush defense

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,255 ✭✭✭hold my beer

Very harsh peno against Connors, turnover looked good, leads to a Connacht try.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,008 ✭✭✭CMcsporty

delighted for Sean O’Brien the 40th

Wind is getting stronger all the time. Might be interesting if Connacht could keep it at this until half time.

I missed a comma in my comment. I meant, with the wind going against Connacht, they can't even utilise a kicking game to keep Leinster honest

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 499 ✭✭niallm77

    Snyman is a cheat code

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 499 ✭✭niallm77

Connacht fans ... it went backwards ......

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,925 ✭✭✭BUACHAILL

Ref is ruining the game, just put a green jersey on and start scoring trys ... game has gone to the dogs!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,724 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

That goes backwards through JGP's legs.

Also want to see that hit in Ringrose from Aki again.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,008 ✭✭✭CMcsporty

    got you.
even a hurricane couldn’t blow the ball out rgs hands

    Bundee can though!

Think that try gives the scoreboard a more accurate picture to how the game has gone. Pretty happy with how Leinster played overall. Bit inaccurate at times, but playing some good stuff. Happy with how Culhane and Gus McCarthy are playing.

Our second half performances have been patchy recently so I hope to see us restart with the intensity we opened the game with.

Connaught 14 pts down with one man up. Some outrageous decisions coming up.
