    Hi All,

Currently driving a 2016 C4 Grand Picasso, it served the family well for years now but we are at the point where its too small.
I have 4 kids and its really becoming hard to get any of them into that 3rd row so I am on the looking for something with more room back there.

A lot of the cars I'm looking at are no bigger than what I currently have so am I stuck with getting a van? 😂
Budget is gonna limit things too, it will be maximum 20k + whatever I get for the current car.

Any advice on what cars I should be looking at?

An older Volvo XC90 would meet your requirements too

That's what I have now for the same reason as you're looking

    Have had
    Touran (too small)
    Zafira (too small)

Alhambra (old model where you had to take back row out for boot space)

Galaxy (it did fit them but died)

Newer Alhambras & I think Sharons are the same size as the Galaxy so they'd probably do too

We have an XC90 for the same reason.

Budget really rules out a Galaxy or XC90 based on the prices I see on Carzone.

Any thoughts on the Nissan Serena? Looks like its about Galaxy sized

my wife bought a nissan serena recently 2018 . was within your range

3 rows but loads of room - we had a car full of teenagers at the weekend and loads of room

she is happy with it so far.

Ah, I had literally asked about them 1 post up 😅
They do look like they would fit the bill. I wonder if parts would be awkward to get since its an import.

Back to the drawing board on this, I was hoping a Nissan Serena or Honda Stepwagon would be the way to go as they both look to fit the bill but I just spoke with multiple Nissan and Honda dealers and they both advised they will not be able to get parts for the cars.

They are 10 year old cars, why would you be going to a main dealer? Give the reg to a local motor factors and get a price for some various different parts. Shocks, brakes, etc and see what they say.

Never used any independent dealers near me. Been driving a Citroen for about 13 years and always serviced them with Duffy's in Newbridge. I don't want any hassle dropping a car in for a service somewhere only to be told parts are a pain to get and this seems to be a risk with both these Japan imports. Cant afford that when the car is the only mode of transport for the family.

Another +1 for the xc90 here, We bought a just over 1yr old xc90 instead of a new peugeot 5008 in 2018 from a peugeot garage as they were the same price at the time, what I will say in the xc90's favour is depreciation is slow and it's a do anything vehichle, so work that into your man maths. It's a car you'll have a long time and struggle to justify changing until the kids leave.

I'm not seeing any great value right there this minute in them but the do appear espically privatley. Patience might get you into budget.

We had a 2016 Grand Picasso and changed it last year for a 2019 one. We only have 3 kids though all under 10 though at this stage. I did a bit of research into my options at the time and below is what i found.

Large Car Based - Ford Galaxy, VW Sharan or Seat Alhambra, XC90. The Audi Q7 may also work but i dont know.

Small Van based - Peugoet Rifter, Citroen Multispace, Ford Tourneo Connect, Caddy Maxi Life, Opel combo life.

Bigger Van - Citroen Spacetourer, Toyota Proace (both similiar to the Nissan Serena)

    Hope this helps.

Thanks for that, few options there I hadnt come across. Wife only drives an automatic which is a pain in the butt as it limits choice. While the Rifter and Multispace wont win any beauty contests they both look like they would fit the bill so will keep an eye out for those
