What has happen to the wonderful Sinead Mooney from RTE's playback?

She has been missing for weeks.

doesn't she do the traffic reports on the various RTE stations under her Irish name? if so, she was on during the week

Is that the surname that makes it sound like she's vomiting?

I don't speak Irish, so don't know what the Irish for Mooney is.

The Sinead from playback is from Mayo.

    That Sinead is from Kerry.

Two different ladies. NíMhaonaigh is Mooney. I’m guessing the other lady translates as Sinead Houlihan.

Afaik, Sinéad Ní Uallacháin has the anorak distinction of being the last ever voice to broadcast from the 252 longwave giant transmitter, on a loop announcement saying this service has been discontinued, please retune your radio to 87.8 to 90 FM..

there seems to be a lot of continuity type radio announcers floating around RTE, Carol Moran one of them who was given a (sometimes) live drivetime show on RTE Gold. Prior to this she used to sometimes present that Rewind show between 2 am and 3am with the best bits of the day on Radio 1, doesn't seem to be on much more though since covid. Niall Ó Sioradáin used to also present it.

you have to wonder why the need continuity at all most of the time now that the schedule is more or less back to back live programming

how many of them read out those traffic reports, since AA roadwatch ceased ?

shame they got rid of continuity. I guess there are not programmes every say, 25 minutes, like there used to be up to 20 years ago.

Did anyone notice poor sound quality with her replacement? His voice is at a low level in the mix, though the clips are generally okay.
