I done some soil testing this summer and some fields needed action which I carried out, should I soil test again next February to see what improvements have occurred or just drive on with my plan. How long after spreading slurry should should I wait to get a good reflection of the fields that will get slurry next spring.

Best thing to do would be to apply for the soil sampling scheme that's opening later on this month, up to 16 samples will be done for free. Your not going to see radical changes in the results after sampling less than a year previously.

You should wait at least 6 weeks after spreading slurry and at least 8 weeks after chemical feet to test ground for an accurate result.

Anyone now of any handy online guide/resource for picking up the basics on soil analysis and best actions after sampling etc? Have had 2 sets of soil tests done now in last 3 years (both covered under schemes) but my own knowledge in this area is poor so want to bring myself up to date a bit on it! Thanks.
