Crazy traffic in Clondalkin village last Friday

This happens when there's a bad accident on the western M50 and it's closed, all of the surrounding areas Clondalkin, Lucan, Blanch go crazy. But there was no reported accident or closure of the M50 on Friday.

On Friday from about 4:30pm it took an hour and a half for my wife to drive from Castle Crescent to the Mill Centre, that's less than 800 metres! Does anyone know WTF was going on. Her nearly 90 year old mother was with her in the car, they were only going to pick up a few groceries for her. Had to go home via 9th Lock Rd and Nangor Rd (which were completely uncongested) and then go back later.

In Cavan there was a great fire / Judge McCarthy was sent to inquire / It would be a shame / If the nuns were to blame / So it had to be caused by a wire.

Not an option with a near 90 year old I'm afraid.

Was there not road blocks for the escort of the Vietnamese PM & his convoy heading back to the airport? that was what my bus driver said. Had to get off at the bottom of Woodford Hill and hoof it up to the Luas.

Sometimes the traffic is madness. Usually a combination of a few things. Once a bus crashed on the molloys watery lane junction on a Friday evening. Blocked everything. Took me about 20 minutes to move about 20m on Monastery Road.

another time a bus broke down on tower rd/old Nangor junction. Absolute chaos then too, took people an hour to move what normally takes 30 seconds

It seems that any sort of incident at the wrong time of day and the whole one way system seizes up. Didn't hear about any crashes though and the Vietnamese PM was hardly staying in the Ibis 😁
