How to completely remove Oil tank and its boiler?

I am planning to decommission my oil tank and boiler, and I was wondering if anyone here has gone through this process before. If so, could you kindly share any contacts of professionals who handled it for you? Alternatively, if anyone is familiar with the steps involved, I would really appreciate any guidance on the procedure.

Thank you so much in advance!

There will be someone local to you that does tank services.

Any local plumber or boiler technician will know where to point you.

They will pump the oil out of your tank and remove it.

The tank may be worth advertising if it is in good condition or they might take it for you.

They will probably also disconnect the boiler.

The boiler can be taken to a metal recycling facility.

The boiler should be relatively straightforward. Once it’s disconnected by a plumbing contractor it can be scrapped. Any plumbing contractor should be able to provide a full service for this.

On the oil tank - strictly speaking this is hazardous waste as there will be some residual oil and sludge contained within. There are firms which specialise in removing these, although their typical customers would be commercial / industrial sites. Domestic customers tend to find more novel solutions to disposal.
