EEPROM recovery request

I originall posted this in electronics, but was advised to try here as well…

Hi - can anyone advise me where I could get an EEPROM reprogrammed? I had a failed BIOS update on an old PC and now it's a brick. The EEPROM is a PLCC-32 package and I made a copy of the contents before I started. I'm in North Fingal.

    Thanks.

What is the exact EEPROM type? A few of us have programmers, but knowing the chip helps to make sure our writers are compatible. It'll hopefully have something labelled on it like "Am27c256-90" or similar.

Thanks, the markings on the EEPROM are as follows:

    SST

    49LF040B

    33-4C-NHE

    0621176-CA

I looked it up and it is a 4Mbit device. The backup I made is 512KB in size.

    Photo attached.

OP is sorted - I did spend a silly amount of time trying to get a large SuperPro programmer working to only fallback to a TL866 when I discovered I had the correct adapter after all.

Was the adapter the same as the one I've highlighted in red? I not had to use it yet and was wondering if erasing and reprogramming works well on it.

Yup, thats the one - worked fine.

While I was working on it, I then remembered using the same style chip in a cheap-mod/greenmod for the OG Xbox in the early 2000s. I think I had to use a PC and hotswap the EEPROM out/in with a machine that running to allow the initial flashing with a DOS command :) and more hotswapping/flashing with the Xbox OG when I made more cheapmods for friends. Good times
