Overcast and breezy but dry much of the morning , only got rain around about 13.00, some heavy pulses in the early afternoon and just a light shower on and off since late afternoon.

Bucketing down in South Wicklow at the moment. It hasn't been quite as bad as forecast until now but plenty to come looking at the radar. Not sure that Met Eireann's radar is all that accurate in terms of intensity, the netweather radar looks a lot more like what's happening.

Heavy rain early this morning here near Tralee gave way to a bright sunny day for the most part , bit cloudier this evening. Feeling quite warm in the afternoon getting up to a high temp of 18.3C and currently 13.3C.

Up in East Donegal around 4.45pm it remained very overcast but there was a huge amount of brightness still illuminating through but incredibly everything including the clouds and the light emanating had this red hue that weirdly made the landscape look like Mars. Don’t think a phone camera would have captured what the eye could see but wasn’t sure if it was Saharan sands being blown up with the Southerly winds or just high pressure atmospheric phenomena.

Was really different and had a nuclear holocaust feel to it. After 20 minutes the clouds parted into broken sunshine and got very warm.
