Not running anything I can think of that requires it only start up app is Windows Security

I've scanned with several AV products and no virus or malware found.

If I kill the process is comes back again.

How do I find what is calling it?

Wake me up when it's all over.

Could be legitimate, could be a virus. When you say you've scanned, do you mean you've scanned the exe, or you've run complete system scans (preferably boot scans)?

Run Task Manager, go to the details tab, right-click on the column headers, select columns, and set Command Line to show - what is the full command line of the exe (hold down Ctrl to pause the list updates)?

Scanned for everything, rootkits, individual files etc. So fairly confident there's no problem? But its bugging me why its running and why 32bit?

Tried that, command line is just the call from its own directory

    "C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\aspnet_compiler.exe"

If you do a reboot and don't open any other programs other than Task Manager, does it still start running?

Yep its there running after a reboot with no obvious apps running - only Windows security running which keeps on popping up a Security Scan. Your administrator requires a security scan of this item - which turns out is due to x86_64-pc-windows-gnu.exe -Rust.

Tried and failed to uninstall Rust - using windows apps uninstalls it via a cmd prompt but its back in no time - will try again when I have more time later.

No idea what was going on but until I went back to a restore point a month back I couldn't uninstall rust. Now its hopefully gone along with the aspnet_compiler.exe(32) running all the time.
