Where to get tall houseplants for cheap?

Got a tall-ish houseplant for €15 in Lidl the other week. About a meter. One of their magazine deals.

I went to get another one and they're all gone.

I was checking prices online and they are eye watering. Like 60 to 100 **** euro. Woodies is also around 70 euro.

Is it possible to get any tallish house plants for 15 or 20 euro?

Just wait and keep checking out Lidl and aldi, they frequently have them. Homebase have reasonable value in tall houseplants too, like L & A nothing exotic, but decent quality and reliable plants. I would tend to avoid the figs (the small-leaf ficus) as they can be temperamental about situation/draughts/under and overwatering.

b and q have a good selection. Yes the very large are more expensive but you get good value with the mid size plants. They will grow quite quick anyway

On a side note anyone else feel the prices in Woodies these days are mental?

extortionate. They are in no way competitive with other hardware. If it’s 3pm on a Sunday and you’re in need of a bag of cement or a length of timber then they’re the only show in town, and they know it
