I am converting a shed into a small Granny Flat. I have taken down the cladding at the sides of the shed and built a 6 inch single block all around the building. This will will be plastered with sand and cement.

Do I need to leave a gap inside between the wall and the stud which will hold the insulation or can put the stud directly on the wall without a gap. Is 150mm insulation enough?

Converting a shed. Ok so far. What’s the current shed external wall?

Built a wall all around the shed? Why? What is this wall built on? Foundation wise.

Stud inside. Huh? Inside the shed or inside the new walls?

Do you have a sketch. It’s a bit confusing. A snip from the planning drawings would do, but that may be optimistic.

What inflation is in the floor?

    Any planning?

Probably should have sought advice before building the outer skin.

Show us a drawing or section of what’s built.
