    Hey there,

We're due our second Bord Bia audit on the farm. The farm is my father's. I've been helping out. Last year he was diagnosed with a serious illness. He hasn't always been able to work the farm properly since and this audit is really stressing me out now because the records are pretty piece meal at the minute. Can anyone tell me will prescriptions do for the animal remedies? We have those, but only a couple of receipts. I have the remedies filled in to the book.

Get the list/statement of purchased drugs/remedies from the Vet's Office, they can email that to you..

What BB will check is have any animals sold, especially to factories, entering the food chain. Have they been dosed/injected in the year and that the relevant withdrawl period was observed prior to sale. Thats the biggie.

Prescriptions will be fine. That's the most thing they'll want. Receipts won't bother them.

Yes they want a record of when drugs were bought, don't care how much you paid. But if there is a chance anything is missing get the vet to resend everything after the date of your last inspection. (If you don't know when that was get at least 2 years.)

You also need a record of when they were administered and dosage etc. They should have sent you out a check list of what's needed in your records.

Its the second audit so they wont send out the checklist but it can be found easily if you google it.

No need to be stressed out over one of these audits. Most of the people doing them are fine.

If you haven’t written up the records as they should have been I find it useful to photocopy a blank page of each segment of the book and write a draft before writing the final version to the book .

The Bord Bia audit is like an NCT. They'll tell you what needs to be rectifiedand you'll have a few weeks fix.
