Replace mouldy backs on wardrobes

We have pax wardrobes by Ikea which have hardboard on the back. We had a problem with mould before which is mostly solved now, but the backs have mould imbedded in them. I was thinking of buying new board but was wondering if there is a better material.

We solved the mould issue with better insulation and a dehumidifier. However, we have had the wardrobes out a foot or so from the wall since the problem started. There was some staining on the wall which I removed with white vinegar and have since repainted. I'm a bit nervous that when we place the wardrobes against the wall again that the mould issue will reappear. Any tips?
