My driveway has a wooden saddle board in front of the concrete capping to keep the gravel in. The wooden saddle is now loo

se and rotted.

What should I replace it with and how to fix it properly to the concrete?

Could I buy a length of hard timber with the contour already cut on the entry side?

Get rid of the timber all together, it doesn't look like it needs to have any extra ramp as the curb is already angled.

I'd agree, I can't see that wood adding much value to be honest.

What about pulling back the gravel and fitting 1m of gravel grids (vehicle rated) just behind the kerb and then backfilling it. It's less likely to roll out and cause an issue on the path then.

I would like to replace the timber, it was probably put there to lower the impact on the cappings.

As for replacement wood for that… it actually looks like rounded shiplap, except much of that is made from soft wood and it's not going to last more than a season with traffic over it.
