55" TV Recommendation please and maybe a 4k BluRay Player

Hi there,
My current tv (10 year old) is dying and I need a replacement. I have Sonos Beam HT setup so sound from TV is not a priority. TV is in a bright-ish room but away from window and direct glare. My current TV is LED Samsung. Size should be 55". It will be wall mounted (have mount already) so stand is not a factor.

Usage will be:
- TV Viewing (Saorview and Freesat). I want a TV with Freesat Tuner - not just a standard Satellite tuner. I dont have STB.

- Watching Blu-Ray collection - additionally I'm looking to upgrade to 4k BR player so a separate recommendation here would be nice too.

- Streaming 4K Movies (Netflix, Disney)

- Some gaming, but it's not a priority (only for kids nintendo).

I'm a bit confused by all the xLED technology differences but from reading around Sony and LG seem to be winner the TV panel battles.

Budget for TV is ~2000. I can consider more but would need convincing.

FYI - All equipment mentioned is RS purchases (TV,Sonos HT setup, Sony BD player, Wall Bracket etc…) so I'm a happy customer.

If you're looking for a good 55" TV around that budget you really can't go wrong with the OLED TVs. The OLEDs don;t use a conventional backlight (QLED and Mini LED use a backlight which can wash out the image but this is less prevalent in a Mini LED). In an OLED each individual pixel will light meaning the contrast, colour and brightness are a lot more natural.

LGs would be the best of the OLED manufaturers at the moment - especially with the G series which uses Micro Lens Array technology to boost the brightness and the Web OS smart system. I have a G series on display in store and they blow away every other TV around them including the Sonys:

The OLED55G45LW is coming in a little over budget at 2149 euro but for the price there isn't a better TV to go for. It also doesn't come with a stand, it has a very low profile wall mount included but you can use your existing mount if you like.

For a Blu Ray player the Panasoonics are definitely the best to go for. We have the mid range DPUB820 and the more premium DPUB9000 which has THX certification and better sound processors.

Can you confirm that LG TV has a Freesat tuner and not just a generic satellite tuner on board - this is important.

Additionally, the link you posted mentions a free soundbar with purchase, is that included?

Lastly, is there a bundle price available for both the TV and the Panasonic DPUB820?

Thanks for getting back to me quazzy.

The LG TVs have Freesat and Saorview tuners built in and the Freesat tuner is Freesat approved, not just a satellite input. We can also offer that TV with the free G1 soundbar at the moment.

As the TV is on offer and has the free soundbar the web price would be the best I have on it plus I don't really have any movement on the DPUB820 but I could throw in a good quality 1.5m QED HDMI 2.1 cable for you?
