    Hi!

Our 2001 VW Transporter Campervan has broken down. We are advised that the enine is "blown" and needs replacement. Any suggestions as to who we could contact to source and install a refurbished or second hand engine would be hugely appreciated. The campervan itself is really nicely converted and in very good condition, so want to repair it if at all possible!!

    Thanks!

Does Mr. Dalton in Portlaoise still post here? He always had good advice on T4's.

Dalton Car Sales Portlaoise if you want to try give them a call.

Get the engine code and call Kilkock and Traynors

With my last VW T5 (2005) I was told 2 injectors were gone and they (+ labour) would set me back 2 grand. My (old) mechanic "took it for a drive" and just knew. Plugged it in to VCDS diagnostics and checked myself - misfire only happened after engine oil was up to temp - as the wiring LOOM to the injectors was the culprit. 200 quid later - back driving like a dream.

My point - get it to a reputable VW mechanic - before you start shopping around for an engine!
