    hi

    for two result 89 and 88 what is the general uplift probability of getting a H1?

    If there was an uplift I assume the points would only be available in 2025?

    About 20% of appeals are successful. A very small percentage (0.00something) are downgraded as a result of appeal too.

    The successful appeals are broken down into two categories;

    1. very close candidates where the examiner finds another mark, or a small marking error
    2. a large error (usually tabulation error, adding up total scores incorrectly, or missing a page, or missing an answer book.

    If you are hoping for 1. then you've a slim chance, but for the cost, I'd say it's worth it if the points matter.

    Definitely view the scripts anyway.

    Back in my day I found horrific totting up errors on one exam - both papers - that went beyond what I could even get an in appeal (one grade increase, rules may have changed).

    If there are places available, points can be of use for 2024 for a Round Five offer - won't get someone in to a completely full course though; a deferred offer for 2025 will be made.

    I would imagine that if looking to go from H2 to H1, it'll be a full course and not a case of meeting minimum points for a course with spaces.
