Pre 1963 exemption do alterations remove exemption?

Hi all, I’m just hoping if anyone might advise. I have an old house with a very small garden and pre 63 extension at the back. I’d like to raise the roof on the extension as the ceiling height is low. Would that work remove the pre 63 exemption as I may want to extend further into garden.

If you are not adding to the floor area then I can't see an issue. It is advisable though to make an application for a Section 5 declaration just to be on the safe side.

Very tricky situation. You are not increasing the floor area, so hard to see how a future extension is not exempt. But the issue is that, by what basis is the raising of the roof exempt?
I'd section 5 it to be sure as suggested above.
