I see that the qualifying time have been announced of Tokyo was announced.

Some of the QT have been revised down, with the stand out for me anyway is the marathon QT is now 2.06.30 for men and 2.23.30.

Now I get that there will be the world ranking system in place as well, but to me at least these time look to be well out of reach for the vast majority of athletes. I know that there will be a big number of east African athlete's capable of running under the QT but only 3 athletes from each country eligible to race.

Difference in QT from Paris Olympics to Tokyo WC.

    Women's Events:

    • 400m: 50.95 to 50.75

    • 10,000m: 30:40.00 to 30:20.00
    • Marathon: 2:26:50 to 2:23:30
