Just wondering if there are any guidelines on adding a solar car port to the front of a property in terms of planning permission, as in is it required?

Basically a frame with a few posts and then solar panels on top, the sides remain open, West Dublin, area would be about 6m x 7m or enough to cover two cars.

An ordinary car port at the front of a house isn't exempt so needs planning permission. Likewise a car port with solar panels would also require planning permission. It's a good idea though but I'm not sure it would get permission.

    Planning required.
Depending on house and site layout it could be possible to get planning.

Well that's annoying, I doubt SDCC would even entertain the idea in a semi-d estate.

I guess it's back to cleaning bird crap from the cars 😫

Interested to find out if anyone here actually applied for one of these and got it approved?
