"When encouraged by the director, Guy Pearse to go more irish".

That is the problem right there. Guy Pearse wouldn't know an Irish accent if it bit him on the leg. So him trying to Irish up an accent is going to cause problems.

Jees, Liveline researchers must have this James Bond Fan Club guy on speed dial.

This lad MUST be a 'friend' of RTE as usual. Hasn't seen the show they're talking about so they squeeze him in with the most tenuous link possible.

the real test would be to get Brosnan to say Rhododendrons….

I'm guessing you're talking about Joe, he's doing a great performance of the invisible man

Caller, you can't ask the host questions on Liveline.

Couldn't be bothered but of course they're all experts

Collum: Do you like Pierce Brosnan?

Collum here to ask the hard hitting questions.

I think it's deliberately done as a kind of in-joke, Pierce and Helen's decision making is much funnier with these accents.

Have these people heard some of the culchies and Dubs that ring this sh1te ?

There is no single homogenous accent of a region

Most of the time, the reason for a perceived poor accent is down to known association of the person you're critiquing

    Pierce Brosnan singing sounds like

I dont think you have a pervue chief

Imagine not knowing Sean Connery's character in the Soviet navy was from Lithuania as opposed to Russian. You sap !

At first I thought the accents were poor but they grow on you after a while.

I have a bigger problem with the name Conrad Harrigan - that's not an Irish name. I don't know anyone named Harrigan. Conrad also isn't an Irish name - should have just called him Con Murphy instead of Conrad Harrigan.

The padre's should look for an exemption from the DRS for holy water sales.

We'll get an advert next for Irish Water on water conservation.

Something popped up on my phone last week about a barber opening catering for autistic people. Me thinks this conversation will end up being an advert for this

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,574 ✭✭✭johnbarrett35

Sorry, what is this man on about? I was thinking about Holy Water.
