I'm 62 - being using "technology" since the 1980s so give over about the older generation.

And she rang the Taoiseach's office - mother of God. I feel sorry for the poor unfortunate who has to answer the phones there.

"Legal tender is not being accepted"

    Joe says that is "illegal"

It 100 percent is not absolute nonsense! If it has a sign saying it doesn't, a shop does not have to take cash.

In France and Spain it's illegal for a retailer not to accept cash.

    Joe: "Ahhh!", jovially

The lady was saying they wouldn't take cash despite it being legal tender.

Joe said to not do that is "illegal".

It is 100 percent not, if they have a sign saying they don't take cash they don't have to.

This one needs to get off facebook

You don't need an app to access your points total in Tesco. You get the total in your receipt. You also get the vouchers for the points to apply on a shop physically out in the post.

Also if she is capable of doing an online tesco shop surely she can have an app on her phone....

De Dunnes self service checkouts are designed to give you back complete shrapnel in coins, I've never got back a crisp 50c coin, they will give you 10x5c out of spite so to speak.

In fairness that’s right I experienced that myself.

They ask customers before they start to order if they can pay using card.

I saw a young one pay using cash though so they must relent when ppl only have cash.

No, that won't wurk as your Google account has to be set to the UK region, you have to get the APK installer file of the apps to manually install them.

My father was 86 when he died. He had a smartphone, a laptop and 2 kindles.

That "older generation" shite really annoys me.
