Back garden borders public park

I recently moved into a property in Dublin and my rear garden borders a public park. There is no boundary between the park and our garden, essentially anyone can walk from the public park straight into our back garden. It is quite overgrown at the moment but the plan is to clear it all out.

Is there any obligation on South Dublin County Council to have a boundary on the public park? Seems all other areas of the park either have a metal fence or a brick wall.

    Cheers

There is a boundary. The boundary is a notional legal line. Obvious you mean there is no boundary line or wall.

There is no obligation on the council to have a boundary wall on a park, no more than there is an obligation to have a enclose wall are the boundary with other public area.

There is also no obligation on you to have a boundary wall. But you'll probably want to build one.
