Bowen playing at full back for a lot of today's game as well as being taken off early is making me think he may not have been the best pick as a 7.5mill midfielder. Still clearly a good player but not likely to be playing as a striker this season by the look of things. Did not see the full game but Szoboszlai might be a good option with the position he was playing this week.

Don’t have Jota. Is it worth sacrificing Bruno, Gordan or Odegaard for him?

Bowen was playing full back?😱 If so I'd be tempted to chuck him out asap. Some decent options at that price point like Jota and Gordon.

Anyone who watched the Newcastle game, how did Gordon look?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,602 ✭✭✭macraignil

Gorden looked fairly attacking as usual with him and Isaak the two furthest forward after Murphy was taken off to allow Krafth fill in for Schar when he was sent off. Took a punt on Murphy since he had such a good pre season. Newcastle probably would have created more chances if they had kept 11 players on the pitch so my thinking is that Murphy and Gordon could be worth keeping for another few games.

Too soon to tell tbh. Any of those 3 could haul next week and Jota could be benched.

Anyone got stats on Barco transfers?

Can’t remember the site for predicted rises/falls🫤

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 579 ✭✭✭dasa29

    According to

    Price Change Predictor (fplstatistics.com)

    This is where Barco is

    Barco

    Brighton

    D

    A

    24

    £4.0m

    0

    267683

    -1.6

Also the highest to a rise is Mazraoui at 42.7% needing 64143 transfers

Sancho leads the way to a fall at 40.1% needing 2380 transfers

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,420 ✭✭✭Invincible

Fpl statistics or Fiso, usually takes them some time to sort out the algorithms.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,803 ✭✭✭Bleating Lamb

Typically the first transfers don’t happen too quickly at the beginning of the Season.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,895 ✭✭✭✭machiavellianme

Tempted to WC and correct the error of starting the season with no Haaland or Salah. What was I thinking?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,420 ✭✭✭Invincible

Someone in the RMT thread had neither, don't know was it someone else.

Tough going to go without either, had both originally, but left Salah out in final pick.

    Depends on Shaw's fitness really.

ETH showed a willingness to bring back Shaw asap and play him for 90 mins every game once he returned from injury last season which ended up making him injured again.

nothing has happened this week that should make you change your strategy on the main players drastically. nobody should really need to do a transfer unless you've Quansah or Barco.

Liverpool were better defensively than you'd have expected. Trent was in classic Trent positions, and should've had an assist. Salah was better than you'd expect, and you're delighted if you went for him. in great areas all match, but it was Ipswich, and Leif Davis was appalling in the second half. Jota didn't cover him, but he got his goal, and with no Nunez minutes, he looks secure for at least the Brentford game, if not more going forward.

City were City. Haaland did nothing you wouldn't have expected at the very least. those who avoided him have to expect a return every week. your hope is purely that he doesn't haul regularly.

Arsenal were solid defensively, as you'd expect. if you went with Arsenal defence, you're happy. if you didn't, it is what it is. you probably have City, Newcastle and/or Liverpool defence. Or Porro tonight. Saka covered Salah, and you're unlikely to have Salah, Haaland AND Saka in your team, so Saka did his job for his owners. so whatever premiums of those 3 you own, you hold.

if Eze had teammates on his wavelength, and the referee wasn't a moron, he'd have rewarded managers. he's points waiting to happen. Brighton were encouraging in attack for their assets - Pedro particularly unlucky. you hold if you have.

Isak returned for captainers despite being on a ten-man team, has great fixtures, and is Newcastle's most potent weapon. hold. if you went Gordon, no reason not to hold as you had probably planned.

there should be no panic for the majority of teams that had planning go into them going into GW2.

So has Quansah lost his place already? Must sell before he drops

    WHat are Nkunku owners doing?

I've only 49 points but I've no Salah so I'm reasonably happy to leave my team unchanged.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,468 ✭✭✭✭SlickRic

the problem is that City was the first game. Chelsea played all of Enzo, Caicedo and Lavia, shunting Nkunku out wide. that is not where he was playing in pre-season, which suggests Maresca had a plan particular to City. he wasn't subbed off because he was bad.

I'm going to wait and see where he plays for the Wolves game before making a plan for him.

realistically, anyone who has him bought him despite the City game.

we also need to see what team Maresca plays in the Conference League qualifier on Thursday.

So he's a hold for now.

Jackson is so appalling that i'm hoping he even gets to play striker or as a false 9 against Wolves.

Will give him another chance which he may well have to take

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,112 ✭✭✭ShagNastii

For all those that are thinking of WCing for a bit of clean up early. I've done it a few times and never regretted it.

GW 1 can be a terrible beast. This year's was OK in my opinion. No enormous surprises.

I’m one of those with Salah, Haaland & Saka 😀…but also one of those with both Quansah and Barco ☹️. Tbh the quansah call I am happy with, he just didn’t take his chance which probably would have meant him starting the first 3 or 4 games where he might have made the position his own. Barco was a risk given ownership but won’t give up on him just yet. Them the breaks and I will be shipping quansah out before start of GW2. Not sure yet who the best 4.5 option is? Have konsa and Robinson, anyone care to suggest another option?

Unless your worried about his price falling, don't waste the transfer - have 2 for GW2, or 2/3 for GW3 could be invaluable.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,420 ✭✭✭Invincible

Think it was Fpl statistics had a post on X last night saying Barco should be 3.8 by GW2

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,420 ✭✭✭Invincible

Son out for Saka looks likely, 10m too much for his performance tonight.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,352 ✭✭✭✭Father Hernandez

Surely you keep him for Everton at home though with Saka away to Villa?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,420 ✭✭✭Invincible

Well Nkunku out for Joelington was another thought, but probably best to give him another game.

There's absolutely no chance of him being 3.8 by GW2.

He's only -5% to his first drop at the moment and once he gets his first price drop the second drop requires even more transfers out to happen which will probably happen at some time over the weekend but not by the GW2 deadline.

No transfers this week bar an injury, no exceptions.

Much better to have an extra weeks info and two transfers in gw3.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 238 ✭✭Heiser

I don't understand why everyone with Quansah is getting rid already? Yes he was hooked early but Konate is made of glass, Slot will know he can't play him every week or depending on him. Quansah will start lots more games and he's still a cheap way into the Liverpool defense.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,111 ✭✭✭fplfan12345

I do wish Barco was getting close to a drip so I could justify selling him as he’s my first sub so I only had 10 playing for me this week.

That Milenkovic no-show was a big disappointment. A ban that was carried over from another country and nobody seemed to know it was going to happen.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,641 ✭✭✭✭Green&Red

I had to check who Milenkovic was, you think hes a pick? Already have Sels but wouldn't mind the double up.

FWIW Barco could come in yet, Hinklewood added very little by all accounts. Quansah could also start the next day, he was first pick for a reason, can't see Slot just abandon that plan after 45 minutes. Could see him and Konate rotates based on opposition.

Yeah I fancy Nunes defence at Forest.

My choices were Sels and Anderson or Henderson and Milenkovic.

No big harm done yet but I’d like to see him start. He’s a big boy so should be a set-piece threat.

    I don’t have Quansah. I’ve got 2 x 4.0m defenders on bench.

I kept 3.5m in the bank so I can go a few different directions over the next few weeks if and when needed.

Yeah, Hopefully Barco gets a chance in the next two games because if Milenkovic doesn’t start next GW I’ll have to sell as I can’t keep playing with 10 men.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,429 ✭✭✭✭8-10

Banking this week if Porro isn't seriously injured. If he's out next week I'll likely look at Rico Lewis for him

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,416 ✭✭✭✭Fitz*

Barco's price is only relevant when you want to sell him, so I don't get the rush. More than likely you can only buy another 4.0 anyways. Obviously you'll want a playing player but if you have 13 others that are playing, is it that important? Just put him on the bench and hope he hasn't dropped by more than 0.1 by the time you are wildcarding when his price is relevant.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,429 ✭✭✭✭8-10

0.1 is essentially 0.5 the first time though. Otherwise you can only get a 3.9 for him.

Southampton looks like the best bet for 4.0 defenders followed by Ipswich. Not great for returns but should at least play.

Barco I'm not sure on, it's a great defence to have if he starts getting time, but I'd want to be sure he's nailed before considering him

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,416 ✭✭✭✭Fitz*

I just don't see the appeal in your first transfer of the season being a 4.0 → 4.0 (or 4.5 if you money money ITB) to occupy a bench position. I'd rather suck up the 0.1 loss myself and then try transfer him out as part of a WC.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,112 ✭✭✭ShagNastii

Think I might ship Barco. Don't think he'll get the gametime in the long term.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,397 ✭✭✭COH

If ye are all selling him then Im going to start him for his inevitable 17 pointer

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,326 ✭✭✭munster87

Unless you somehow already have a decimated squad it's probably best to roll in gw2

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,455 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

I'd hold onto Bruno anyway. I'd give it a week and if one of them does nothing again then pull the trigger.

Jota is very injury prone, I have him and hope he has an injury free season. He's dynamite if he stays fit.

I thought Odegaard was playing a little deeper, maybe keep an eye on that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,455 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

Maz imo. Trippier might start this weekend.. He might move forward on the right then but I'd wait for that to happen.
