What to do with old phones

The family have 4 old phones that I am looking to get rid of - all in good condition
Vodafone offer a buy back but I imagine that they are not be best value - but it looks very straightforward
I don't fancy dealing with the loonies on adverts.ie x4

What is best way to sell these?

I have dealt with Cex the past few years and always got a reasonable price for phones once they are in good condition, they pay cash too.

Is there any real option for disposal of phones that are too old to have any commercial value? The charity schemes seem to have disappeared. Is there any actual recycling option?

I dropped a bunch of assorted phones, cables and chargers into Harvey Norman, repair section, they send them off to be recycled

I tried to sell my old iPhone 8 Plus to CEX but they refused it because the battery was too degraded. The battery health was at 82% and showed a degradation warning so they said they couldn't resell it. So it's just gathering dust now.
