Travelling with a child from Dublin to Armagh

Hi, Hope all is well, I'm travelling with my 12 years old daughter for a summer school in Armagh, I got her and myself a UK visa for this purpose. I was wondering if there are any furhter documentation required when coming back to Dublin from Northern Ireland and while staying their, also if there is border control or visa checks on buses. Any insights would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Hi, I’m assuming you don’t have an Irish or EU passport so I can’t give you any advice on the legalities, but in practice there are no checks when crossing the border. You don’t even notice it except that the signs change from km to miles.

I take it you have UK Visa in your passport you are free to travel to UK. It is unlikely you will be stopped travelling up North. When you appled for your Visa they got all your relevant details.

Assuming You flew into Dublin, I’m not sure if You will have any issues at passport control on Your return journey to wherever at Dublin Airport.

When you say UK Visa, did you mean passport or are you coming from outside of the UK? If you are flying into Dublin, all you need is to make sure you have the correct documentation for getting in to Ireland if you are outside the EU.
