On Monday 5 Aug 24, LIDL are selling a Thermal Imaging camera for about €100.
The ad. says: Display Resolution: 240 x 320 pixels
This is not the same as the thermal image sensor resolution, which is only 32 x 32 pixels (rather poor).
You only find this out when you buy it and read the specs page of the user manual.
Also the refresh rate is only 9Hz. Both of these are key specs for a thermal imaging camera and not stated in the ad.

Have you used it, and if so can you compare it to anything on the market?

Hard to know what usefulness that resolution would have.

    Thanks for highlighting this.

The price range for adequate, compliant thermal cameras IMO is between €10-40k so caveat emptor as they say

Here is an equivalent one for cheaper - posted from Germany

Its probably ok for locating cold spots in the house as it shows… a fun tool for the price.

For higher res - the lowest good ones would be about twice that (250euros ish) for a device you clip to your phone - like a Flir One or InfiRay - both excellent devices with more options like camera overlay or zoom lenses that helps enhance the resolution even further - just require a phone to function.

I can confirm the camera is really no use when trying to identify cold spots. All walls are blue. I'd have though they should have been red with blue spots visible for colder parts of the wall. It is essentially a really expensive thermometer. I will look to offload on adverts as soon as possible.
