Complete grey skies/blanket cloud cover - Ireland - cause?

what is the cause of these endless grey days - total blanket cloud cover - no light - no patchy clouds - just total doom and gloom - seems to be more prevalent to me now - cause? climate change or ?

I think it's just a bad summer, the seeding is happening long before 2020 though and there are plenty of UK businesses operating in that space.

a big ocean from where our prevailing wind comes from, we need easterlies for clear skies on our island which is why the April to June period is usually the sunniest and driest.
a northwesterly can bring sunny weather before 10am and after 7pm but the middle part of the day always clouds over without fail.

I don't believe any human efforts to create cloud or rain, even if effective, could produce widespread cloudy skies over an entire country or region, and that does not address whether any cloud or rain is actually produced.

The cause is probably a combination of warmer than average sea temperatures and cooler than average upper level air temperatures; the interaction would tend to create stable cloud layers.
