Which EUFY Doorbell should I go for?

Hi, looking to get a EUFY doorbell, however there is so many of them out there, my head is muddled up trying to decide on one.

Ideally wireless I think as would be easier to set-up (not DIY savvy), Have an existing wired doorbell but the way it’s facing(pic attached) I don’t think it would make sense to put the EUFY there @ instead it should probably be on the wall facing out and onto the driveway/road. Others in the estate have done similar.

Any advice, recommendations would be much appreciated.

    Thanks

    Hi,

Am also looking for a Eufy doorbell. Had narrowed it down to the S330 with Homebase which has 16gb of storage.

Found it on DID website for €199, but they sent me the E340 (twice), despite assuring me that they’d definitely send out the correct one 2nd time around! The E340 comes with a chime, but doesn’t come with the Homebase so it only has 8gb storage. I was keen to get the Homebase to futureproof our setup in case we decided to add additional Eufy security products down the line.

The S330 is available on the Eufy EU website, but they won’t deliver to Ireland. Same story with Eufy UK website! It doesn’t seem to be available on Amazon either.

Has anyone sourced the S330 here in Ireland, or figured out a way to get it delivered direct from Eufy?

I got this doorbell from Harvey Norman a few weeks ago (Harvey Norman was the only place I could find that did this duel camera doorbell along with the chime in one kit). I installed it as "wired", but it can work on just battery power also. (I had to change out the old doorbell transformer to one with the required 24V 10VA output and bypass the old mechanical chime which I always hated the sound of 😀).

I also installed this one for a friend a couple of weeks ago. This one was installed to purely work on battery power.

Both connect wirelessly to the supplied Eufy chime which just plugs into a three pin wall socket. You put a micro SD card into the chime and this is where the video clips are stored. The more expensive doorbell kit I have came with no SD card. The cheaper one came with a 16GB micro SD card. I put spare 128GB SD cards I had lying around into both.

I had to mount both on the doorframe so it looks straight outwards. Both come with a 15 degree 'wedge' that you can use if you wish to angle the doorbell slightly left or right … connect the doorbell to the phone app first and then you can see what the camera view looks like in different positions and with/without the wedge, then install the mounting bracket (just 2 screws).

I got S330 recently on Amazon Germany (you can switch site to English).

Available now for €152 (€17 voucher available) plus €8.58 delivery.

Also available with the Homebase for €189 after voucher plus delivery - this is the better option.

Thanks, it doesn’t seem to give the model number of the two doorbells you linked to. Is the more expensive doorbell better in your view?

We have an existing wired doorbell and ideally we would hardwire the Eufy but the position of the existing wired doorbell would not be great for the Eufy as it wouldn’t capture everything I don’t think, also it is possibly a bit low.

Any suggestions on where best to place it in terms of positioning?

The 'S' and 'E' model numbers were confusing me and I didn't know which was which (I'm still not sure!). My app says I have the E340 with the 'Minibase Chime' installed. It has the dual cameras … so it has one camera that looks straight out as you would expect, but the second camera looks down at the doorstep so it can see any packages left there. I like it, but the cheaper one with the single camera probably does the core job of what you need a video doorbell to do perfectly well.

The manual recommends 1.2m height, but mine is lower than that because I was limited by the length and position of the old doorbell wires.

For your door, you would have to mount the doorbell to the black doorframe rather than into the concrete side wall like the current doorbell. I had just got a new front door installed and really didn't want to put screws into it, but it was the best way to do it.

If you are going to wire the new doorbell, make sure the existing doorbell transformer in your consumer unit (fuse box) is rated correctly. It should be printed on the front … you need 24V, 10VA
