Water filters and RO systems

We are moving from a property with a well to one on mains water.

I want to install a decent filter system that will remove everything so RO seems to be the way to go.

Environmentally they are not great but will they give good quality water?

Will a filter system without RO be good enough?

You shouldn't need anything. Have you had an analysis done that indicates the need?

I had water treatment system installed over year ago and I am very happy with the quality of water. My system consists of: water softener + filters (6 I think) + RO. I have one tap that is used for both water and drinking water (2 separate valves) so it is very handy. One of the biggest benefits is that you don't need to buy any bottled water (no more plastic)! Drinking water quality is good and I can't complain. I can highly recommend it.

    Depends where you live,

I am in Nenagh and the town water supply chlorine taste is strong, it's also hard so I have a water filter for drinking water and I soften the rest.

Self install, lot of work getting pipes sorted

about 800 euro in all CapEx and filters are 15 euro every 6 months or so

we were putting out 20 plastic bottles every two weeks and shower glass impossible to clean, all sorted

I don't think you need RO, IMO, its over sold and not required in most cases
