Bird call at night

For the last couple of weeks I've heard a sound like a child's whistle. It's a single note. It sounds about 6 short calls in about 5 seconds and then a single call every 10 or 20 seconds. It sometimes repeats this sequence or just maintains the single call.

I've never heard it before. It's always been just after dusk.

Only new birds I've seen in the area are woodpeckers.

Don't know but if you dowload the Merlin Bird app it can identify a good amount of species.

Other than that, if you could record the call one of the nights, and upload it here, some learned birder friends can help with the ID I'm sure!

Thanks. I've tried to record it, but too faint to be useful. I'll try to get it on a still night.
