Found Driver's License. What To Do?

As the title says. Found someone's driving license in a supermarket car park. I dont know that person. I think I identified them on social media and I sent them a msg but they have not replied. Maybe they are not really checking that account ever.

What do I do? Would like to save them the hassle of getting a new copy. Bring it to Garda station? Or just forget about it?

Bring it to the Gardai. They have access to the database that will identify the owner's address. I would have thought it was the obvious thing to do.

I thought so too, thats why I mentioned it in my OP. I just wasnt sure whether they'd be bothered or even have a current address. Thats why I wanted to check if someone knows for sure.

Their address will be on the license? Just stick it in an envelope and post it to their address or drop it around to them if they are local

There is an address on the drivers license of course, but it doesnt correspond to their social media profile where they say they live in a different county. Who knows whats more recent? It could be ok, it may not be. The license looks like it may be almost 10 years old and either county is hours away.

Drop it into a Garda station, the chances of the owner getting it back will be much higher than if you just hold on to it.

do what I did when I found a wallet with a driving licence. Drop it to the address on it!
