Protecting Swallows from Predators

I was thrilled last week to discover a swallows nest in my horses shelter with young swallows sitting beside it, but yesterday found adult and baby feathers on the ground and babies are gone. I'm devastated,what can I do to protect them in future, we have a lot of red kites and other birds of prey around

You sure it's not a cat getting it? Felines kill more birds than anything else by a long shot.

I'd say it was a cat, we had the same issue with our nesting blue tits.

would a cat have been able to get to the nest? often swallows nest in places a cat could not reach.

Doubtfull a bird of Prey - more likely Magpies in that situation
