Has anyone any idea will the Government give 1000 Euro off college fees for the coming year like last year , it was a big help to middle income families like ourselves ?

We got 500 Euro grant towards fees earning 90K in a two income household but between accomadation for student , our own mortgage and second level for others there aint much left so the 1000 off fees was a great help for the college year gone by and be great if its there for coming year.

Yes I think they said in the budget it was being continued for this year

Badly needed for many families ourselves included .

looking at the Sunday independent this morning looks that education minister O Donovan is reducing the 1000 off to only 500 off for the coming year , very disappointing for many middle income families earning over 62k

Yes indeed if that goes through .

    Very disappointing.

500 eu off being made a permanent fixture.

A lot of families going to be very squeezed and given it's an election year I wonder if there was a backlash will they reconsider ?
